But what truly sets these sneakers apart is the construction; the WIRE is San Crispino built, a process that may be considered as a variant to the Ideal method. In the Ideal method, the edge of the upper is turned outward from the last and then stitched to the sole. In the San Crispino method, named after the patron saint of cobblers, the upper is turned inward onto the insole and then hand-stitched. The process involves perforating the upper and the insole, which are then stitched together.
The upper and the insole are finally sewed to a beautifully constructed lightweight outsole, made of regenerated leather and a rubber lug, with and eye catching geometric tread pattern which provide grip and traction without weighing down the overall esthetics.
The final product is a shoe which is flexible, durable, extremely comfortable.
